Hi All,
Currently, our group is running a webserver (Windows
NT 4.0 Option Pack 4 installed ) with ClearCase 4.0
Client installed on it. It has a snapshot view created
in it.
The developers work from their workstations in
Microsoft Visual Interdev. They create projects
mapping to the webserver's webapplications. The
misbehaviour is if two users, UserA and UserB are
currently working on the same file and if UserA has
performed checkout on that file ( which is reserved
checkout - the webserver checks the file out in its
snapshot view for the developer ) and UserB proceeds
to check-out the same file ( which should be
Unreserved check-out presumably! ) from his
workstation. Now the UserA tries to check the file
back in ( which is allowed ), it gives out an error
saying that permissions are denied..
After this operation, connection to webserver becomes
really slow and surprisingly, the webapplication to
which the developers are mapping earlier from the
Interdev are suddenly invisible from the drop down
list of the webserver wizard..
Also, please advise me if I have to have any Clearcase
SCC Integration DLL on the webserver updated..
Awaiting all the responses and trying to fix this
problem soon.
I summarize this scenario:
1. ClearCase Server is a seperate Server.
2. WebServer ( Windows NT 4.0 Server with Windows
Option Pack 4 installed )
3. ClearCase 4.0 Client installed on webserver and a
snapshot view ( common to all the developers created )
4. Microsoft Visual Interdev installed with FrontPage
Server extensions on individual developer
workstations.
5. Two developers checking the same file out, blowing
up the connection between Interdev, Webserver and
Clearcase.
Thanks in Advance,
-Seanu.
