Hi everybody
Two questions
1st Question:
I know there has been mail back and forth on this but I just wanted to get
anyone's recent experience and learning.
1. We are upgrading to 4.0 in a mixed environment (NT Service Pack5
connecting to Solaris 2.6 (view server, license host, etc) and another
Solaris (2.6) vob server) The email sent by K.Spence 4 January was a good
read. If you have any tips or problems that you ran into please email me.
2nd Question:
2. We are going to buy an upgraded machine (Solaris) for a new vob server.
We will probably use it for the backup view server also. Can anyone
recommend configurations to optimize performance, upgradibility, etc. We
have approximately 50 engineers doing some intensive software development
with on the average three different levels to that development. I would
like suggestions on memory, bus speeds, storage, cache, disk setup for a vob
server, whatever. Your current successful configurations would be great.
Solaris for a number of reasons is our choice for the upgrade.
Thank you in Advance
