Clearcase kind of relies on unfettered access between the VOB server and
the clients. Also, clearcase by itself assumes a consistant user protection
model between all the machines involved. Multisite sets up a separate vob
server in the other domain and can be tought to use just about any transport
between the two sites (we've even fedex'd disks back and forth when the
update was too large to go through our double firewall).
