there's really lots of reasons. The best reason is that your effective
permissions as root, can often be a bit tricky to understand even if you are
an experienced admin. It's much cleaner to use a dedicated vobadm account
that owns the vobs etc. Just use root to stop & restart clearcase and those
tasks that really require root. It's also much easier to really screw things
up as root!
