The answer is ... it depends!
how many users do you support? How complex is the technology?
There are places where it takes 2-3 admins to support 100+ users with lots
of hand-holding through build and usage issues.
A few things to consider are:
how many of the users are really trained and what's their turnover?
Supporting an ever changing team of consultants can be (but
doesn't have to be) more challenging that a 10 person group of experienced
C++ developers. So my opinion is that it really depends.
Consider also the complexity of the architecture, the maturity of the
development process and the nature of the business that it supports.
try supporting securities trading apps and you'll learn what "busy" really
means!
