Monica,
No, I don't have that problem, he said, smiling all the while.
What you need to do is NOT use the msdos view when invoking clearmake in a
Unix environment. What's happening is that the msdos view is complying with
its mandate: to insert ^M characters at the end of each line. But clearmake
in the Unix environment doesn't like ^M's, so it complains loudly and all
that. Use the msdos textmode view only when viewing and/or adding to source
control/checking out VOB content from a Windows platform using a ^M-oriented
editor. For Unix access, never use an msdos textmode view.

Subject: [cciug] Attache(PC)-(UNIX)ClearCase DOS2UNIX
Hi,
All our VOBs are on UNIX. We have a user using
attache to work at home, but all the compiling is done using
Exceed (rlogin to unix environment).
We have the problem with the DOS end line (^M),
so I decided to convert a specific VOB to msdostext_mode
and create a specific view with msdos mode too.
If the user just checks out-modify-checkin the file, he does
not have problems but when he checks out-modify and
then try to test using clearmake(Exceed... UNIX enviroment),
clearmake send a lot of errors.
I found out that the problem is that if his view (msdos mode)
is used on UNIX, is seeing all the files with the ^M end line.
Do you have this problem ?
How do you solve it?
Even with triggers, the trigger will be with the checkin event,
what happen if he checks out-modify and want to test with
clearmake ? Clearmake will see the ^M character.
Thanks for you help.
Monica
