Scott,
You need to be root in order to install this.
(1) Yes, you can install this on a dedicated Server, then
NFS export that file systesm (/opt/SUNWSpro/....)
(2) Then you have to add the License entries in your FlexLm
server (you can contact SunLicenses, they will send you this)
Refresh the FlexLM.
(3) Ask every user to change their env. variable to point the
NFS exported C/C++ compiler binaries
(/net/BigServer/opt/SUNWSpro...)
& the license env. variable LICENSE_FILE
Hope this Helps!

Install Questions
Off topic question: We are having trouble figuring out
how to install the above compiler package.
We would like to install it like our other third-party
software: stored on a central application server,
with floating licenses on a central FlexLM server,
and users doing builds on their local desktops.
However, the install process requires root access,
as it claims to patch the OS... and we're wondering
whether this needs to be done just on the application
server, or on all client desktops. There are also a
ton of patches that have to be downloaded and installed.
Lastly, we've had a Sun support person tell us that "we
don't sell floating licenses" when we asked about that...
so we're thoroughly confused.
All advice appreciated... reply by email is welcome.
