Hi Dan,
I suppose you restored the view on UNIX. Be sure that _all_ directories and
files in the view storage directory are backed up/restored and have the
correct permissions. Especially the files in .../.identity (gid and uid)
sometimes are missing or come up with the wrong permissions depending on who
does the backup/restore (need to be root) and what options you use for
backup/restore (e.g. tar -p).
The missing config_spec file indicates that something went wrong.
