I'd be interested in seeing this example. I can't figure out a case where
this is wrong, but then, I also do not know the merge algorithm in
sufficent detail. If the deltas are computed on the fly, I'm OK, but if
the deltas are extracted from the data container, the appropriate delta
may not exist and I'm in trouble.
