Ok, some more detail on the requirements and reasons:

1. So far, the NT server has been running fine as far as performance is
required.

2. But we had a problem with the NT server a few months ago and it may need
a complete rebuild of the server some time in the near future, so we'd
rather get CC off that machine asap.

3. The server is also acting as an SQL Server for TestDirector and
Clearquest. We had problems with SQL Server 2 weeks ago which required the
server to be rebooted many times a day which obviously impacted my clearcase
users, so we want CC users on another machine anyway (NT or UNIX)

4. IMHO, UNIX is a fundamentally more stable OS for corporate environments.
Also IMHO, the hardware is considered more reliable and better performance.

5. Our Rational Tech Rep says that a UNIX CC server with NT or UNIX clients
is a more common setup than NT everywhere. I don't know actually how true
that is but I'm a conformist at heart !

6. We need UNIX VOBs and Views for exported views to a VAX for VMS
development. Currently, the VMS users are using a bit of spare capacity on
another small Sun Ultra1 we have, but that will not cope with the remaining
VMS users who want to start using CC. We didn't succeed in getting CC to
work for VMS users using NT VOBs and Views.

7. I'm all in favour of Linux but I want to use tried and tested platforms
and OSs first. Also, would we need TAS to get the NT Interop working ? If
so, is TAS available for Linux ?

Let me know if I'm incorrect in any of these opinions
