Ben,
When you start a view via command line it spawns another shell... the
command in you script don't get executed until that shell ends..
if you want some commands executed from within the view shell you can
either replace the setview with a startview and then use the view-extended
pathname in your commands or you can do something like this (my preference)...

your shell commands..
.
.
.
cleartool setview view_name << E_O_SOMETHING
E_O_SOMETHING
.more shell commands
..
