I saw a question in the CCIUG archives recently about the following error:
view_gpath call failed: RPC: Unable to receive; errno = Connection reset by
peer
view_inventory call failed: RPC: Unable to receive; errno = Connection
reset by peer
cleartool: Error: Operation "view_inventory" failed: timed out trying to
communicate with
ClearCase remote server.
I had the same error. I contacted Rational support and they gave me the
following command to try:
cleartool recoverview -synchronize -tag <view tag here>
This worked and the error is gone. In the process, some files were moved
to the .s/lost+found directory, but it appears that all the files that were
moved were derived files anyway.
In any case, this fixed the error for me. Hope this helps.
