This podcast covers the following topics about business integration patterns:

  • Patterns are proven solutions that foster reuse and collaboration in application development and business integration.

  • WebSphere Process Server is a process server as well as an SOA platform to help developers create, deploy, and administer business integration applications.

  • Business objects provide a unified framework for modeling and interacting with data. In WebSphere Process Server, the Business Object Framework provides a rich and sophisticated data model to support three data usage patterns: document, disconnected, and event.

  • WebSphere Process Server's set of specialized component types are designed for building business integration solutions, such as the BPEL-based Process Component, the Selector, and the Interface Map.

  • The most common approach to implement the Publish-Subscribe pattern is to leverage the capabilities of the Service Integration Bus via the JMS Import.
