Host Pat Flanders introduces a previously recorded discussion between two IBM executives. Hear how IBM products provide two critical entry points to service-oriented architecture: connectivity and reuse. Listen to how you can optimize your SOA for reuse and connectivity through a three-step approach:

  • Create new value from your existing assets in services.

  • Identify assets for continued investment in use.

  • Connect these different assets together to make everything come together.

And delve further into the topic of reuse on this week's "Did you say Mainframe?!" segment with David Rhoderick when he talks to Phil Hanson, CICS product manager. Phil discusses IBM's strategic direction of the CICS product family:

  • Hear about this product area outlook and resource commitment to help plan your business needs.

  • Understand the CICS Transaction Server V3.0 adoption of SOA and Web services capabilities.

  • Listen firsthand to the importance and focus that SOA and standards adoption have on the evolving mainframe development and runtime ecosystem.
