About the guests

Gil Long

Gil Long is a Distinguished Engineer with IBM. He serves as the SOA governance integration lead for IBM Global Technology Services and the worldwide education lead for Enterprise Architecture. He has extensive senior management experience in all areas of IT, including IT strategic planning, architectural design, business systems design and implementation, systems and network design and deployment, and data center operations. He has had direct management responsibility for large IT organizations, staffing, and budget accountability. He also has multi-industry experience in healthcare, financial services, education, retail, insurance, utilities, manufacturing, and government.

Sunil K Murthy

Sunil Murthy is currently a product manager driving the WebSphere Service Registry and Repository initiative as part of the IBM SOA offering. He has been involved in the broader SOA and WebSphere Portfolio Strategy for more than two years. He has been a business integration technical specialist for more than five years, working on the WebSphere team, part of Application and Middleware Software within IBM Software Group. He has more than 11 years of software industry experience and has been working with IBM Premier Business Partners and customers. He has been providing technical consulting and in-depth expertise on products that comprise the IBM WebSphere SOA platform.

Sandy Poi

Sandy Poi has more than 25 years' experience in the financial services industry with more than six years at IBM in the Financial Services Strategy and Change practice. She primarily focuses on IT strategy, specializing in organization design, effectiveness, and governance. She was one of the first to work with effective e-business organization design and governance after leaving her role as vice president in the IT organization of a major insurer. Her passion for the value SOA brings to the business and her teamwork on a major SOA initiative more than 2 1/2 years ago in SOA Governance and CoE Organization Design led to her role as the initial SOA strategy lead. Moving from her previous role in the SOA strategy sffering, she is now leading the Governance and Business Value "Hot Topics" supporting the SOA offerings. She is an associate partner, CPA, CMA, FLMI and IBM Certified Consultant.
