In this seven-minute podcast, Dave Mitchell, IBM program director for
Software as a Service, talks about current IBM focus on SaaS technical
assistance and some short video offerings on developerWorks. Then Gary
Steen, technology director for Martin Dawes Systems, an IBM partner, joins
to talk about what his company is doing in the SaaS space. Mitchell and
Steen talk about what the partnership has meant to both organizations.

About the guests  Dave Mitchell is responsible for the design and implementation of IBM's
Software as a Service partner programs worldwide. These programs provide
technical and marketing support to hundreds of application vendors who are
adopting or who have already embraced the Software as a Service delivery
model. In this capacity, he also frequently interacts with the
venture-capital and analyst community. He has been involved in IBM's Web
and application hosting business for more than 10 years. His previous roles
include global offering manager for IBM e-business Hosting Services, EMEA
intranet solutions manager and U.K. Internet marketing manager. He has a
degree with honors in business studies from the University of Portsmouth
and has a post-graduate diploma from the Charter Institute of Marketing.  Gary Steen joined Martin Dawes Telecommunications in 1989 and gained
experience as a project manager on several large system implementations
internationally, including Vodafone, Telstra Australia, and Orange France.
His success led to his being appointed to the senior management team of
Martin Dawes Systems in 1999, and he continued to progress to the board. He
leads a world-class team and has responsibility for overall product design,
application architecture, and the future technological direction of our
product set. In his role as technology director, he continues to drive the
development of new solutions, as well as sustain the leadership of our core
product set. Customer and industry advancements are a key influencer on the
product direction, and he works closely with customers and partners across
all our markets to ensure we continue to lead in product innovation and delivery.
