Subscribing to developerWorks podcasts

Like our RSS feeds, subscribing to our podcast feed requires a piece of software on your computer that will occasionally check in to see if we've posted something new. When there's a new piece of audio content on our site, you'll have the option of automatically downloading it.

To automatically download and synchronize files to play on your computer or your portable audio player (e.g., iPod), you'll need to use a podcast client. iPodder is a free, open source client for Mac OS X, Windows®, and Linux®. You can also use iTunes, FeedDemon or any number of alternatives available on the Web.

After you download and install your podcasting software, add the developerWorks podcast feed or channel. Instructions for adding channels vary depending on the podcasting software you choose, but typically, they go like this:

  • The developerWorks podcast channel is listed in the table below. Right-click the link or RSS image for the podcast channel and select Copy shortcut or Copy link location.

  • In your podcast software, select Add a new feed
  • Paste the podcast channel link and click Save
