General e-Marketplace variation
The general e-Marketplace variation is applicable to all three types of eMarketplaces: Trading Exchanges, Sell-Side Hubs and Buy-Side Hubs. It is implemented using only one Application pattern. Various levels of implementation complexity and functionality are possible, however, using subsets of the Application pattern.

Sell-Side Hub variation
The Sell-Side Hub variation follows BASE Pty. Ltd, an imaginary company with realistic e-business and IT requirements through the project development life cycle. The Sell-Side Hub design that results includes Application patterns, a Runtime pattern, and a Product mapping to aid the company in selling goods and services to prospective buyers across the Web.
