e-Marketplace composite pattern:: Sell-Side Hub runtime pattern
Overview
Each of the Application patterns previous identified contributes a distinct portion of the application functionality required to meet the business and IT requirements of our example company, Base Pty. Ltd. The process outlined in the IBM Redbook B2B e-commerce with WebSphere Commerce Business Edition V5.4, Patterns for e-business Series can be used to gather similar requirements for other e-business engagements, and identify the Business, Integration, and Application patterns that meet them.
Each of the identified Application patterns can then be mapped to a specific Runtime pattern. Runtime patterns indicate the middleware nodes required to enable that Application pattern's functionality.
These individual Runtime patterns are then aggregated to achieve a combined Runtime pattern for the entire solution. This combined Runtime pattern is shown below. Please review the IBM Redbook B2B e-commerce with WebSphere Commerce Business Edition V5.4, Patterns for e-business Series for more information on the individual Runtime patterns that make up the combined Runtime pattern seen here.
Note also that many of the nodes identified below might not appear in all Sell-Side Hub solutions. For example, the Technical Document Repository is a pre-existing system component of Base Pty. Ltd, the example company used here and in the previously mentioned IBM Redbook to illustrate the concepts surrounding the development of a Sell-Side Hub application. These nodes are denoted below by their blue color.
