DB2 9.5 and 9.7. Prepare a roadmap to securely migrate to the first commercial hybrid data server.
Audience
Data architects, database administrators, and application developers.
Duration
1 day
Description
IBM DB2 9 has been available for more than 2 years. DB2 9.7 is now available.
These new versions of DB2 are very different from the previous versions of DB2
in terms of architecture. For the first time since DB2 on Linux, UNIX and
Windows was released, DB2 offers new query language capabilities, a new storage
technology, new indexing technologies and other new features that improve performance, usability, and maintainability. Learn how versions 9.5 and 9.7 deliver a broad range of new capabilities that can help you manage costs and simplify application development and application migration.
During this workshop, hear discussions on the following topics:
- PureXML technology
- Table and row-level compression
- Data security (Label-Based Access Control)
- Table partitioning
- Practical autonomic features
This workshop also includes hands-on labs and a migration roadmap.
