Learn how to install Ruby on Rails. This demo shows you how to create a simple inventory application and the steps required to create the initial Ruby application and Informix® database and table. You'll also see how sample data is added to an application as well as some basic exception handling. This demo is the sixth demo of a six-part series that shows how to use IBM® Informix Dynamic Server on Microsoft® Windows®.

About the author

Akmal has been working with database technology since 1988. He has been a regular presenter at many international conferences, including Object World, Object Technology and OOPSLA. He has also edited or co-edited eight books, including XML Data Management (Addison-Wesley, 2003). He holds a BSc (1st Class Hons.) in Computing & Information Systems, MSc in Business Systems Analysis & Design and a PhD in Computer Science. He is also a Member of the British Computer Society (MBCS).
