The IBM Sametime® Video Chat Widget provides an easy way to associate a Sametime audio/video session with an IBM Connections Community page.

Introduction

The IBM Sametime Video Chat Widget uses a Sametime meeting room to make it easy for people viewing an IBM Connections Community to get together for a spontaneous video chat. The widget is very simple, consisting only of a "Join" button and a counter showing how many people are currently in the video enabled meeting room. When individuals click to join, they are taken into a custom meeting room which includes only the video panel and associated audio/video controls, and the list of participants in the room. Audio and video are automatically started for each person as soon as they enter the room.

Prerequisites

The widget requires an IBM Sametime Meeting Server, version 8.5.2 Interim Feature Release 1. In addition, The Sametime server must have fixpack RPOH-8U4KJM installed and be configured to support Sametime audio and video. See the IBM Lotus Sametime 8.5 information center for information on setting up and installing the Sametime Meetings Server. The widget also requires an IBM Connections server, version 3.0.1 or later.

Post-download instructions

The widget package includes the code widget to be installed on the Connections server, along with documentation on the installation and configuration steps required.
