The IBM Sametime® Remote Client SDK package provides Java™ APIs for room creation and management against the IBM Sametime 8.5.2 Meetings Server. The SDK exposes services that mirror the capabilities of the Meeting Center, such as creating, editing, updating and deleting meetings.

Introduction

The IBM Sametime Meetings server, since version 8.5, is based on REST-ful web services. The IBM Remote Client toolkit provides a clean Java wrapper around the room management REST APIs making it easy for customers and partners to integrate and build applications against the 8.5.2 server.

The functionality exposed is currently limited only to room services—creating, editing, updating, searching, deleting rooms. Realtime capabilities will be surfaced in later releases.

Prerequisites

The SDK requires a IBM Sametime Meetings Server, version 8.5.2. See the IBM Lotus Sametime 8.5 information center for information on setting up and installing the Sametime Meetings Server. All other toolkit dependencies come bundled with the SDK.

Post-download instructions

The SDK comes with documentation, dependencies, samples and Javadoc. The samples include a server side plugin demonstrating how to leverage server side extension points. The “How-to” guide provides a good starting point for users of the SDK.
