Installation Instructions:
- Unpack the tarball: kernel-3590-2.4.21-37.0.1.EL.s390.tar.gz or kernel-3590-2.4.21-37.0.1.EL.s390x.tar.gz
- As root, install the rpm using: rpm -i kernel-3590-2.4.21-37.0.1.EL.s390.rpm or rpm -i kernel-3590-2.4.21-37.0.1.EL.s390x.rpm
- After applying the RPM you need to setup the command 'depmod -a' as root user.
Restrictions:
In the 2.4.21-37.0.1.EL Red Hat kernel several
IBM bug fixes for tape-infrastructure are missing.
Therefore, do not set fixed block sizes to tape devices, since
this can lead to system crashes.
