Multipathing with SCSI disks

When you are using Linux on System z, and you want to establish fail-save connections to the storage server, we recommend to use multipathing. Multipathing increases system stability and resilience. Multipath tools can be used when SCSI disks are attached to achieve high availability and load balancing.

We recommend using LVM2 and not EVMS created Logical Volumes. LVM2 created Logical Volumes use less CPU resources.

The failover mode shows better performance, causes lower CPU costs, and ensures better throughput rates than multibus.
