To achieve the best results, configure your system in choosing disks alternately through ranks, device adapters (pairs) and servers.

Better throughput rates can be achieved when using SCSI. However, you do not have the ability in monitoring performance of your disks like you have with ECKD.

When using SCSI disks keep them equally alternating over FCP adapters and WWPNs.

With this basis of choosing disks it is possible to get the best throughput.

This concept is very important in getting the best performance with logical volumes.
