CPU time accounting is configurable with the kernel parameter VIRT_CPU_ACCOUNTING:

• VIRT_CPU_ACCOUNTING=Y
configures virtual CPU time accounting

• VIRT_CPU_ACCOUNTING=N
  configures tick based CPU time accounting

• Default: VIRT_CPU_ACCOUNTING=Y
