linux-2.6.5-s390-30-april2004.tar.gz / MD5 ... accumulated patch, recommended (2005-10-04)

linux-2.6.5-s390-30-april2004-patches.tar.gz / MD5 ... single patches, recommended (2005-10-04)

These patches contain the following linux kernel features:

Summary:
kernel new function: FCP re-IPL/reboot support.
Description:
This item adds re-IPL support for LPARs to enable the reboot of a Linux SCSI system.
Summary:
zfcp new function: enhancement of zfcp debug features.
Description:
Debug features (DBFs) els_dbf, cmd_dbf and abt_dbf were removed and san_dbf, hba_dbf and scsi_dbf were introduced. The erp_dbf did not change.
The new traces improve debugging of problems with zfcp, scsi-stack, multipath and hardware in the SAN. Common to all new DBFs is that they provide a so-called structured view. This significantly improves readability of the traces.
Summary:
zfcp new function: provide support for NPIV.
Description:
N_Port ID Virtualization (NPIV) allows a single FCP port to appear as multiple, distinct ports providing separate port identification. NPIV is supported by FC HBAs on System z9. zfcp was adapted to support this new feature.
Summary:
vmcp new function: User space access to CP commands.
Description:
Provide a kernel module for issuing z/VM Diagnose X'08' from userspace by providing a character device.
Summary:
z90crypt new function: CEX2A support.
Description:
Add support for CEX2A accelerator cards to z90crypt.

Everybody should apply this patch.
