linux-2.6.16-s390-cmm2-october2005.tar.gz / MD5 ... single patch, experimental (superseded) (2006-03-28)

This experimental patch delivers:
  • Collaborative memory management Stage II
Support for the future memory management improvements from the Statement of Direction in the z/VM 5.2 IBM U.S. Software Announcement Letter 205-168 "Improved memory management between z/VM and Linux for System z9 and zSeries", which exploits z9-109 enhancements.
Note that this patch is not the functionality described in "Cooperative Memory Management" of the "October 2005 stream" Device Drivers, Features, and Commands manual.
Experimental patches were only tested to a very limited extent and should be used carefully.
As experimental patches are are not part of the recommended patch-chain, they may not apply or not work correctly if applied on top of later "October 2005 stream" kernel.
When sufficient testing and code-reviews are complete, experimental patches will be superseded by recommended patches.

Warning: Only apply this patch for testing purposes, not on a production system or on any system that may get authority over a production system or access to data of a production system. Disregarding this warning may result in data loss.

To create the complete linux kernel sources, the following patches need to be applied in sequence:
