Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 provides a new threading technology called NPTL. There is also the option of running with the original LinuxThreads library by setting an environment variable. IBM Java 64-bit SDKs and JREs are not supported for LinuxThreads operation. They should be operated with NPTL, which is the default.
