Simplify your Java™ database programming with Java Data Objects (JDO), the first standardized, completely object-oriented approach to object persistence. This tutorial, which is designed for the intermediate to advanced Java developer with a solid understanding of relational databases, uses discussion, code samples, and hands-on exercises to demonstrate the practical application of JDO. Prerequisites

This tutorial is designed for intermediate to advanced Java developers. To get the most out of the tutorial, you should be experienced with the Java 2 platform and have a good understanding of how relational databases work. Some knowledge of JDBC will be helpful.

You will need JavaScript enabled on your browser.

Exercises in this tutorial are based on the LIBeLIS JDO implementation, available for free (for educational purposes, with registration) from LIBeLIS. In addition to the JDO implementation, you'll need the following technologies and resources to complete the exercises in this tutorial:
