I am aware that RDz (like RAD) has the native local debugger for Java. Can I use the same debugger for Cobol or do we need to purchase the IBM Debug tool for that?
Or is it like I need IBM Debug only for remote debugging???

For local COBOL debugging, the following infocenter link should give you the required information. http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/ratdevz/v7r5/topic/com.ibm.etools.zide.cmn.doc/topics/tzdcbl003.html

For remote COBOL debugging, you would need the IBM Debug Tool.

But, the nice thing about DT is that the interface is the same across languages. This is not so with Xpediter. So, this is one of the reasons that we will move away from Xpediter coupled with RD/z being much more powerful than the Xpediter GUI (which is also Eclipse based).
