I can't make backup from my server(SYSTEM X 3650) to tape drive(ULTRIUM 320 SCSI). Every time I get an error message. I use ntbackup and acronis. In each case I get error message.
Backup report is following:
"The device reported an error on request to read data from media.
Error reported: Hardware failure
There may be a hardware or media problem
Please check the system event log for relevant failures
Error : E: is not valid drive,or you do not have access"
System x 3650 server is attached to the IBM Ultrium 320 SCSI drive over Adaptec SCSI Card 29320LPE.
I tried to update firmware on tape drive but with no success- update failed.
Used tape diagnostic tool. Sometimes I get error ,sometimes report that tape passed all tests.
I changed tape drive with new one but still have same problem and get same error.
Versions of drivers of scsi hba and tape are current.
Windows 2003 SP2 is OS installed on server.
In computer management everything looks good. Drive is visible,media created,in idle state before running backup.
I really dont know what to do next.
If anybody have any idea how to solve this problem,please help!!!
