Just installed the new CICS Explorer and it looks good, especially the plug in for CTG, that's very useful.

However one thing that still appears to be missing is an automatic refresh function. I remember an introductory session at Warwick a while back where this was mentioned and I'm pretty sure it was said then that a refresh function was a priority for the development team.

Is this function there now and I just can't see it or has it been shelved for some reason?

Thanks

The CICSPlex SM WUI allows the user to poll the server at a configurable interval for updates. The Explorer supports multiple simultaneous views so simple polling would put an unacceptable burden on the server especially as we expect it to be used by a broader audience. We are therefore investigating a more sophisticated mechanism. Is there a particular view e.g. Events or action e.g. Install for which automatic refresh would be most useful?

Well, the obvious one would be the Events screen, you wouldn't want to keep updating that manually. But generally anything where the information is dynamic. Current tasks would be another example and maybe the CICS connections on the CTG screen.

Cheers
