New & Improved: Eclipse Workspace for Batch Development

This is an improved version of the workspace originally posted by Snehal Antani.

This workspace supercedes Snehal's, adding the following features:

  1. Two sample applications
    1. Echo from the original workspace
    2. TestBatchJobStep from this article

  2. Development LifeCycle Scripts

    3. The workspace includes scripts for generating
    • packaging properties
    • xJCL

  3. Compute Grid Test Server (UTE) Integration

    4. The workspace includes scripts for
    • installing batch applications in UTE
    • submitting batch jobs to UTE

      • Note: joblogs retrieved and stored back into Eclipse project - cool!


Quick Start
  1. Unzip attachment
  2. Open workspace: batchdevenv.6.1.0.3.1/workspace
  3. Check out readme.txt - you'll find this inside the project

This workspace works for WCG FP5. However, since people are asking, we plan to post an updated workspace, based on FP5 level tools and including new BDS patterns. We will post this soon. So watch this space.

1. Updated jars from WebSphere ComputeGrid 6.1.1

2. ComputeGrid Unit Test Environment (UTE) and ComputeGrid server with WebSphere ND Integration

The workspace includes scripts for
* installing batch applications in UTE and ND
* submitting batch jobs to UTE and ND

Quick Start

1. Unzip attachment
2. Open workspace: batchdevenv.6.1.1.1.1/workspace
3. Check out readme.txt - you'll find this inside the project
