Dear all,

I reconfigured WebSeal using pdconfig utility. The result:
1. Access Manager Runtime Configuration was successful
2. Access Manager WebSEAL Cconfiguration was failed in the step
startWebSEAL()

I was using Active Directory for user registry and Tivoli Directory Client
for the directory client.

Could somebody help me to solve this problem.
Thank you.

Gentle People, I have a similar problem - On Windows XP SP2 w/ the latest updates. (BTW, I'm a newbie to this forum, so, I ask for your indulgence if I'm piling on the original post.)

Here is my error log:

Configuring WebSEAL instance 'default'...
createConfigInstance()
setCfgValues()
cfgWebServer()
wsazn_config()
registerService()
startWebSEAL()
DPWCF0473E The WebSEAL instance 'default' failed to configure.

Thanks for your help.

Hi all,

just a thought. I had the same problem. Except for the error: it said it couldn't create the pidfile (webseal-default.pid).
I deleted the pidfile, configured WebSEAL and everything just worked fine.

Hey ,

please try deleting the /opt/pdweb/instance-name folder and try reconfiguring again.
If possible please give the msg__webseald-default.log file . so that i can try looking into it.
