WCM on Portal 6.1.0.2 - removing versions

Hi all.

Does anyone know how to delete all the old versions of content without having to go into each item?

I have just recently completed a migration from Portal 5.1.0.4 to Portal 6.1.0.2. I have also completed an import of all our PDM documents into WCM as well.

This has all worked OK and as expected but after a while (running some applications that updates all wcm content) I noticed that we were running out of disk space.

It appears that versioning is on by default and as such every time we have run an app across the content to update certain things it has created backup versions of the content.
Usually that would be fine but with the PDM documents now in there (4GB worth) this makes for a very large database. Needless to say I have turned versioning off for the moment.

I took a look at deleting the old versions and it appears you can only do that by going into a piece of content, clicking on the versions button and removing the versions one at a time.
This is not something that can be done easily across our 6000+ PDM documents.

The other solution (which I'm loathed to try) is to syndicate all live content to another server, delete the library then syndicate it back. I don't really want to do this but I guess I will if I have to.

Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.

All the best,
Tony

Looks like there is a solution and it looks like it's been around for a fair while.
