DB2 for i follows the version of the IBM i. DB2 for other platforms follows a separate versioning number. How do you determine what version of DB2 for i is consistent with what version of DB2 for other platforms?

When you see documentation for a specific technique in DB2 for platforms other than i how do you know if the technique will work in DB2 for i?

What DB2 platform is typically the trendsetter?

Thanks.

Unfortunately, there is no correlation between the different DB2 flavors. They tend to "leap-frog" each other in terms of specific features, some features in one can take YEARS before they're implented in another.

The only way to determine the specific features in any of the products is to read the manuals.
