Error - "You are not allowed to launch EVStudio." [launch Advisor]

When i want to launch Advisor I get an error "You are not allowed to launch EVStudio.". Iam login in Cognos Express Administrator as admin.

Dpes anyone know how to resolve this? i did installation step by step

Can you check in Cognos Express Manager if the Cognos Express Administrator account is a member of the Express Administrators group?

Hello,

Under the "users" i can see that cognos Express Administrator account is a member of the Express Administrators group.

Other modules work great. Iam using windows XP.

Do u have any other suggestion?

Being part of the Express Administrators group should suffice, but you can try if making the Express Administrator account a member of the Express Users group solves your issue.

Can you check the permissions for the EVStudio capability?
  • launch IBM Cognos Administration from Cognos Express Manager
  • on the Security tab click on Capabilities
  • click on the little down error near EVStudio and select Set properties
  • on the Permissions tab grant Execute permission to Express Administrators

Advisor (EVStudio) is not supported under FireFox. You'll get this message (not a particuly accurate one for this problem) if you are using FireFox and attempt to launch Advisor from the Cognos Express manager page. You'll have to use IE if you wish to run Advisor.

Advisor does not currently support Mozilla Firefox. As a result, when you try to launch Advisor in a Firefox browser, you will get the message "You are not allowed to launch EVStudio."

You should still be able to lauch Advisor using Internet Explorer.
