Hello,

Does anybody know if an existing standalone WESB server can participate in a cluster?
Are there configuration steps to achieve this?
  • I'm working with WESB v6.2, BTW.

Hello,

A node can be created using a standalone server profile, e.g. for ease of administration, however this will be limited as a "Single Cluster" topology. For instructions, please see
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/dmndhelp/v6r2mx/topic/com.ibm.websphere.wesb620.doc/doc/tins_federate_ss_node.html

A standalone server can not be federated into an existing cluster, but "deployment environments" are a good way to create a topology from scratch in the deployment manager.

See
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/dmndhelp/v6r2mx/topic/com.ibm.websphere.wesb620.doc/doc/cpln_topologypat.html
and
"WebSphere Business Process Management V6.2 Production Topologies" redbook
http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg247732.html
for a more detailed discussion on topologies.

Thanks for your input, Dave.
Topology patterns of WESB/WPS are always puzzling headaches 'cause we can hardly hands-on real configuration which requires multiple machines.

Thanks again for your great input.
