I am new on this forum, and i would like to ask for a support with IBM server x335 (two of them). All are 8676 machines.
Recently i bought few ibm servers from x335 series and after few months of work two of them are dead.
1. In first i have maked an update of bios and ismp over diskiettes to version 1,15 (bios) and ismp (maaany versions) but something happened when i have flashed ismp. For first two or three times it says about error writing flash to memory (1/100 or 2/100 and error bangs), after that ismp led started to blink very fast and when i am trying to update there is info that it is a wrong firmware for machine!
I did tried to diagnose by ibm diagnostics, but it says that ismp is busy... Fans are running very fast and there is big noise by them.
In bios when i am trying to check the version of ismp there is no data... just empty space.
2. In second server i have a strange thing, when graphic card is connected to pci port by power supply, there is a both processor error. It starts, checks one proc, turn off with error led, then starts again, checks one more time and there is second proc error.
When pci card is connected to second port, there is NMI and pci-c error and system restarts.
I have tried running without VRM on one proc, less ram, other ram, no disks, no other parts, running on backup bios etc... always the same error. What can i do with it
ad2. I will try it tomorrow, but as far i remember, i have tried to run server without additional graphic card and the nmi/pci-c error was there also.. but i will try for sure on monday. I have attached original ibm rsa2 card (on radeon 7000 series) and it was working all the time earlier... I have 3 spare cards from ibm and on all of them is cpu/nmi/pci-c error...
ad1.i would gladly give you any more info from dsa, but i dont know how. shame.. I have tried doing an update firstly under windows 2003 server and after fail under dos (older and newest firmware i suppose it is 1.09...)

it is good to use RSAII card for troubleshuting. Lets check VPD page and log Web pages of RSAII card.
What is the problem with DSA log? Use DSA Bootable Edition and post resulted file *.xml.gz.

looks like you confused with different x335 management adapters. See last versions of management cards firmware on update matrix page:

Flashing to ISMP ver 1.06 fails, says: "failure due to appempted flash of invalid firmware. please verify firmware is correct for machine type"
IN VPD i saw that version of ismp is 255, i suppose it is a bug though...
Alexander, the second machine x335 with nmi/pci-c problem is not able to past POST. with rsa2 it is rebooting due to nmi error, and without rsa2 there is constant cpu error. i will not get any xml from the other one... :(
as clear from provided VPD info you are using nonsupported x345 RSAII firmware ver.1.10 GEE840B on your x335 servers.
First of all you must update RSAII firmware to x335 version 1.05, T2E818A:

Update of RSA2 went well, because of Your help, but after rsa2 update i tried to update ismp under bootable dos img file and unfortunately the same error - firmware not for that machine type...
