Regardless of how you invoke RFT playback (via the IDE, TestManager agent, CQTM agent, RQM adaptor, RFT command-line interface), RFT playback requires that someone with proper permissions be logged into the machine and that the session be "active".
By "active", I mean that the screen cannot be locked, and if using a remote desktop session, the RDC window must not be minimized.
This is required because otherwise MS Windows will not draw the controls and therefore RFT cannot emulate clicks against them.
So, with this in mind, it wouldn't make much sense to run the RFT adaptor for RQM as a system service. You need to be logged into the playback machine before you can kick off playback, anyway. And the adaptor would need to be running as the user who is logged in (not another user, not the System account).
