Hi,
We have EXP3000 connected to MegaRAID 8480 which is installed in hp ml350 G5 server, under heavy I/O Virtual Disk (raid10) becomes degraded and cant perform any more I/O, server needs to be restarted in order to bring controller back, this used to happen even more with raid5 configuration. if you have any ideas pleas help,
Thanks for your time.

I studded same situation.
verify you have latest firmware and drivers for Megaraid and EXP3000.
Then enable in Windows write back cache option for volume located on expansion (disk management -> disk properties -> policies -> enable write cache + enable advanced performance)
Megaraid 8480 and EXP30000 too is an LSI child and IBM OEM’es them only. They should work with other hardware.
I don’t have personally experiences with it. A guy asked for help with performance troubles with Meragaid 8480 with EXP3000. He colleted several windows performance statistics and I founded very high disk queue values for write operations. I advised to change cache write mode to write-back, but it could be possible only when he upgraded raid controller and expansion firmware and driver to latest version. After this problems disapperead.
When he did upgrade and change cache write mode it looks like problems disappeared.
