ITM 6.2.1 AIX Premium Agent - hostname resolution

Hi folks,

We have a situation where we have an ITM 6 OS agent and an ITM 6 AIX Premium agent installed on the same LPAR on a system p server.

Both agents are configured to provide historical data to the Tivoli Data Warehouse. The OS agent correctly reports the data under the FQDN hostname serverA.abc.com; however, the AIX agent is reporting the data under the short name serverA. So there are two tables registered for the same server.

We are unable to determine how the AIX agent is resolving the server hostname.

CLI HOSTBNAME returns FQDN
NSLOOKUP returns FQDN
/ETC/HOSTS returns FQDN.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Try doing a reverse lookup on the IP address and see what you get.
