Odd issue.
Have an HMC running code level 6.1.2 with 1 p550 and 2 p55As on it. 2 of the 55As, the terminal session works without a hitch. Both of these 55As have microcode level 240_202. The p550 is the one that the terminal will not work on. When you open a terminal, this is what you get:
==================
Open in progress
ýèýé
Open Completed.
Ÿdê
==================
No keyboard input is accepted. Can telnet or SSH to the box fine. Its microcode level is 240_332. Need to be able to manage the box via the pseudo-terminal from the HMC. Both the HMC and the 550 have recently been rebooted with no effect. Have tried to refresh the connection from the HMC, still no joy.
Any help would be great.

Try doing a ssh to the hmc, run vtmenu and connect to the same lpar. Let me know if the same problem arises.
