Quick product announcement of a new Ready for Tivoli validate ITM agent that has been posted on the
OPAL catalog — there has been a lot of traffic on the TME list and on the Developerworks forums over the past year on various requirements that have cropped up for extended file and directory monitoring and this week we (Blue Medora) have responded by releasing a new agent,
Blue Medora Agent for Files and Directories (FDM Agent).
The File and Directory agent is a dedicated IBM Ready for Tivoli validated ITM agent focused exclusively on filesystem based file and directory monitoring. It supports file and directory matching based on
regular expressions as well as a number of other useful features. It’s supported on most all of the distributed platforms (Windows, Linux, Unix) including Linux on pSeries and zSeries.
With
Blue Medora Agent for Files and Directories, you gain the ability to monitor:
- File or directory size in bytes, kilobytes, megabytes, and gigabytes.
- The number of files in a particular directory.
- The number or size of files matching a naming pattern in a particular directory.
- The number or size of files matching a naming pattern in a directory and its subdirectories (recursion).
- The number of files in the entire file system matching a naming pattern.
- Whether a file or directory exists.
- Whether a file or directory has been removed.
- Whether a file, file set, or directory is growing or shrinking.
- Delta Changes (Size).
