During the installation, I keep getting the message "Please shutdown lotus notes client and lotus sametime client and then click OK".

Neither Lotus notes nor sametime are running! And when I click OK, the installation does not accept my notes password though it is correct!

I had restarteed the machine multiple times, checked whether any services of lotus notes is running or not. No notes related processes are running but still I get the same error message and cannot go beyond the "password" as it is not accepting my password for notes, though it is correct!

Details:

  • OS: Vista Business (32 bit)
  • My userid has admin rights
  • Lotus notes 7.0
  • UAC is off
  • There is only one nlsxbe.dll in the machine (in notes folder)

hi,
I just ran into exactly the same problem - only difference is that I'm running XP Professional (so no UAC ;) ). Reboot, re-install, run ZapNotes3 to kill all Notes related processes, nothing worked.

The result is that, although I can pass the, eh, password validation, my main mail file cannot be located. Even if I try to add it manually to the list of additional mail files I get the message "The system cannot find the file specified".

If I continue anyway - no main mail file selected - with only my archive.nsf, this file gets indexed. So it looks as if something is "locking" my main mail file for Omnipage to access or read it.

Please advise.

Tx,
Olivier
