While accessing the update site i am getting the following message.

Network connection problems encountered during search.
Unable to access "http://awwebx04.alphaworks.ibm.com/ettktechnologies/updates".
Unable to access site: "http://awwebx04.alphaworks.ibm.com/ettktechnologies/updates" Connection timed out: connect
Unable to access site: "http://awwebx04.alphaworks.ibm.com/ettktechnologies/updates/site.xml" Connection timed out: connect

Pls help to install the Xform generator plugn.
Is there any approach to download those plugins instead of update manager.
Thanks in advance

Madhukar

Madhukar,

Welcome to the forums and thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are experiencing a problem with the awwebx04 server and will investigate.

Thanks,

Sorry, I believe you just have to be patient and wait for the server issue to be fixed.

Hello Jim

I followed the steps that were provided in the site.
1) As my eclispe is 3.2 ,i downloaded the "eclipse-SDK-3.1.1-win32"
and copied the pluigns that are necessary
"emf-sdo-runtime-2.1.1"
"GEF-SDK-3.1.1"
"JEM-SDK-1.1.0.1"
"wtp-1.0RC4"
"xsd-runtime-2.1.1"
2) Then i tried to install the plug in this time i got this exception
IBM Emerging Technologies Explorer (Eclipse 3.1) (3.1.0.1) requires plug-in "org.eclipse.core.runtime (3.1.0)".

Before this i tested with Eclipse 3.1.0,Eclipse 3.2.0 versions, but i was not succeeded.

Please help in installing this plugin.

Thank you

Madhukar,

I'm not really an expert on this, as I'm filling in for others who are on holiday. My suggestion to you would be to unzip the five downloads into a new directory and try the install from there.

(You may already be doing this... just want to be sure you're not on 3.2).

Also, try skipping past the exception. Does it force you to stop?

Also, it looks like you figured out you need the Eclipse version (not RAD).

Sincerely,
-Jim Hsu

You should unselect the "Web Semantic" feature and select just the XML Forms Generator feature. The Semantic feature requires Rational Application Developer tool that runs on top of Eclipse.

Same error as above while trying to install it through Eclipse update manager

Error parsing site stream. http://Premature end of file.

Is there any alternate update site?

Thanks

I tried to access this site six weeks ago to download the plugin.

Same results; eclipse can't find any plugin support on this site.
I tried again this morning, when I got a "reminder" to send in evaluation comments.

I think that one could easily guess the type of response that I entered into the form.

would anyone have been surprised that the Form used to collect responses is also broken?

Usually, I would have thought that it would have been more of the "incomplete attention to detail" that one has come to expect but hopes that this project deployment will exceed the low expectations that have become the norm.

on the other hand, "to many redirections" is usually a site configuration error and not a form specific error
