Hi all,
Can anyone tell me if we can mount any filesystem inside a wpar? Or is there any restriction that we can have a specific filesystem mounted inside a wpar?
I have this doubt bcs i read an article at some site which said that we can mount only nfs inside the wpar. But i happened to cre4ate a jfs file system and mount it inside the wpar from the global environment. and i logged into the wpar and run the mount command and happened to see that i was abkle to c the location where jfs file system was mounted. So i just wanted to confirm the same!!
Your observation is consistent with the supported behavior:
o Under normal circumstances, you cannot perform local LV mounts from within a WPAR because the physical LV devices aren't visible.
o NFS and namefs mounts work fine as long as the WPAR has access to the mount device.
o Any mount you can perform from the global can be made visible within a WPAR by ensuring that the mount stub is within the directory structure of the WPAR.
One caveat to note is that an NFS device must be exported to the WPAR's IP address in order to be accessible from within the WPAR, regardless of whether the mount operation is performed from the global or the WPAR.

Hi Eric,
Did you have the opportunity to play with GPFS and WPARs ? including mobility.
I'd like to know if GPFS works withing WPAR and, if not, which details are preventing GPFS to work.
Thanks,
