Hello, just wanted to make sure that you are aware of the latest energy related offering:
IBM Systems Director Active Energy Manager™ (AEM) V3.1.1, an extension of IBM Director, helps monitor and manage the power and thermal usage of systems in IT environments and is available on Linux® on POWER™, Linux on x86, Linux on System z™ and Microsoft Windows®. Originally designed to support IBM BladeCenter® and System x™, this enhanced energy management technology now supports additional IBM systems, as well as storage devices and non-IBM servers through IBM Power Distribution Unit (PDU+)support. This energy management software tool can provide a single view of the actual power usage across multiple platforms in the infrastructure, as opposed to the benchmarked power consumption. Active Energy MManager can effectively allocate, match, and cap power limits in the datacenter at the system, chassis, or rack level while retrieving temperature and power information via wireless sensors and collecting alerts and events from facility providers related to power and cooling equipment. By enabling energy management technologies, users can effectively manage their datacenter while improving their cost of computing.
To take advantage of the 60 day free trial, go to: http://www.ibm.com/systems/management/director/extensions/actengmrg.html
